Flashback Friday ~ CMC ROCKS THE HUNTER 2013

Back in March Woodi and I went to our 2nd CMC Rocks the Hunter, we had such a blast the year before and booked my parents in to have the kids again straight away! This year we had our friends Kim and James join the four of us (Stacey, Aaron, Woodi and I) that went last year.

Two days before we left Stacey found out that she had won 2 VIP passes to the CMC Music Awards held the first night and she asked me to join her..... Drinks, Canapés, Mingling with the Artists and watching the awards....WOW.... Yeah ok, I guess ;)

We dropped the kids at my parents on Thursday night, and were all packed up for the 6am meet at house the next morning. Without the kids there and no real close neighbours we put CMC on TV and were all pumped getting ready and waiting for our friends to join us.

We got to Hope Estate pretty early, beating the mad rush we experienced the year before, picked the ideal camp spot (knowing the lay of the land from the year before) and set up what we think was the best site there :)  After a bite to eat we grabbed some drinks and headed on down to the festival grounds and marked our spot for the weekend.

Stacey and I went to the awards night later that afternoon, enjoyed the wine and nibbles and were a bit awe struck by all the artists right there in the room with us... Just casually standing around, drinking, chatting, getting photos with people... It was amazing. We decided to get in on the photo action and then stood right up front to watch the music Awards.

After the Awards we went back down the hill to join our group on the grass watching the performances on the Main and OzArtist stages. It is wonderful sitting/standing amongst a massive crowd of laid back people all there to listen to and enjoy the same music as you, while the artists are up on stage playing their hearts out to the masses spread out on the hill of Hope Estate. Their music travelling across the wide expanse of land, and fading into the surrounding mountains as the sun goes down behind them and the stars start to dot and dazzle the sky.....Beautiful, my kind of festival :)

We had an amazing weekend, Monday came around and whilst we were all looking forward to seeing our kidlets again decided that we were on again for next year and it couldn't come around soon enough. Can't wait for CMC ROCKS THE HUNTER 2014, my parents are already booked :)

Entering a new phase of my exsistence......

I have tried a couple of times to come back to my beloved blogging after a difficult period but each time it never quite felt right, I couldn't reclaim my little space with comfort and confidence. But I am entering a new and exciting phase of my existence and am a distinguished *scoff* 30 year old now.... and I really want to start blogging again about all the new and exciting (and the boring, mundane and miserable) things happening in my life right now.

BUT so many exciting things have happened while I've been gone and it doesn't feel right leaving such a huge gap in this little blog of my life - even if I'm the only one to read it....

I made some really big changes, and eliminated some negative people and influences. I spring cleaned my life and I have to say, when you clear out the negative it is AMAZING how much positivity flows in to your world.

I made a lot of new friends and started living life a lot more, all of which lead to me having the confidence to do this....
Change my look completely!! I really stepped out of my comfort zone here and the changes since have been many.

I started taking time out for myself - without feeling guilty! Time out used to be time locked away in my room or a candle lit bubble bath (which I still love and frequently enjoy!). Now time out is girls night out with my friends - going to Chicks at the Flicks and dinner, and going to the gym with my friends and family members.

My husband and I went away with our friends to CMC Rocks the Hunter - a country music festival for 3 nights! Kid free for 3 nights was such a weird feeling, something I wouldn't have dreamt of doing. Despite missing our kidlets we had a fantastic time, it was so great for Woodi and I to take time out as a couple and just enjoy one another. Something that we didn't do enough of, but are now making a conscious effort to do more. My hair (although shorter than it's ever been) was let down more in those 4 days than it has been in such a very long time.
We finally got the car we've been wanting for the past 7 years, a Holden Jackaroo! It's my new ride and I love it :o) We have taken it on a few adventures already, one of our fave was 4WDing on Stockton Beach. The kids thought it was amazing that we were driving on the sand and in the dunes. It was so much fun and I even worked up the confidence to take the wheel myself, it was really nerve racking but I felt amazing afterward.

The twins Moo and Boo started playing Soccer this year and after some falling through of coaches I was nominated and have been having a ball with it! Our family have been looking forward to having the girls involved in a sport that we can go along and watch, and are really enjoying it!! We have quite a little cheer family gathered for every game and Loo even wears a pair of the clubs soccer shorts to each game :o)

I started working again and started my own business with the Oasis Homewares franchise, it took a lot to put myself out there again. But I love the products and love working again! I have to admit I love the paper work more though than putting myself out there... It's been hard pushing through my anxiety and various other issues but I gave it my best shot.

For the moment though I am giving Oasis a little break, until I get on top of some of my issues. After over 12 years of suffering from depression and 5 or more from Social Anxiety I am finally on a new and exciting path. I have a team of doctors/specialists with a treatment plan that has me extremely hopeful for a better and brighter future where I can reclaim what these illnesses have taken from - but I thinks that in itself is a post... or three.

So it is with this new and promosing direction in life I feel I have reclaimed my comfort and confidence and want my little bloggy patch back to express my struggles and celebrations of these paths I am taking and the many improvements in my life.... I hope this is the first post back in a long series on Moodi Mumma's Musings xox

Thankful Thursday with Kate says stuff :o)

First up I wanna say I am Thankful for Kate and her Thankful Thursday link up... I have been having a hard time trying to blog lately but have been wanting to. Today when I opened up Blogger and saw this link up, it was just the "Get Blogging" gift I needed, so thanks Kate!!

I am thankful for:

* Good Days :o) After a week or more of Bad Days that saw yet another Med increase :( It is really nice to be back to a good place.

* The HomeRoutine app on my iPhone! It is fantastic for implementing my Fly Lady Routine and keeping on top of it! I am loving how easy it is to "Fly" with the help from this application!

* The Shift Worker app on my iPhone! Our social calander is filling up rather nicely and I have been planning upcoming holidays and appointments. This application is making it so easy to find out which of Woodi's 3 shifts he will be on at any given time, which makes planning so much easier!! Goodbye to counting out the shifts on a calander :o))

* Wonderful, kind and generous friends :o) We have some wonderful people in our lives who are helping us out with our car situation/s at the moment, for them and all they do I am very Thankful xox

* Our wonderful neighbours and friends, we have been helping each other through several things lately and enjoying some fun social times.... we have some fun things in the works to that I'm looking forward to :o))

* Getting tickets to CMC Rocks the Hunter!!! Woop, woop!! We will be camping at the festival for three days and watching some amazing performances..... and all before my Birthday, meaning I can tick another of my 30 Before 30 list :o))

* Loo recovering from her bout of Potty & Toilet Phobia! She is back on the toilet training trail and has been nappy free (during the days) for a week now with only 2 accidents!! I am so thankful and proud!!

* The wonderful news I received today but am unable to share just yet..... hopefully soon though.

* A wonderful small school with fantastic teachers and having a great relationship with those teachers! Boo's Teacher MissC took me back to their room yesterday after school to have a word with me. Boo was on the Smart Board the other day writing a sentence about their day. When Bella only wrote one word and seemed frustrated MissC took her aside and asked what was wrong. Boo said that the words on the screen were 'glowing' and 'moving'. MissC immediately tried looking for the source of the problem, eliminating light reflections etc and tested Boo with a book. Boo told her that she hasn't had it happen with a book before, only on the Smart Board. So thank you to MissC we now have Boo booked into the optometrist (along with myself and the other 2 girls) to try and solve her vision troubles with the Smart Board.

So what are you Thankful for this week? Head on over to Kate Says Stuff to link up and let us know xox
