A couple of Christmases ago when our Family Christmas traditions had all changed and my little family was threatened with not getting to experience them, an online reader suggested that we start making our own. She listed some of the little traditions that make Christmas and other times of the year special for her family. Inspired I went searching online for "Family Tradition Ideas", and came away with a list of ideas that I wanted to implement for my little Family.
One of these ideas was on the last day of school each year to have a water fight when the kids get home from school. Yesterday was our first time to implement it, and we were so excited to surprise the kidlets!
Woodi and I bought 5 water pistols, filled them up and had a bucket of ammunition - water for refills - at the ready.
We filled another bucket with water bombs, all ready to go...
When Woodi brought the girls home he told them to put their school bags down, and go straight out the back "Mumma needs your help with something!". I of course was hiding James Bond style and took sneaky shots at them, screaming "Happy Last Day of School!" :o) They were shocked and surprised and quickly cottoned on to what was in store for them!
MissC from next door popped her head over the fence to see what all the commotion was and we invited her to join in. Many Pistol refills and two buckets of water bombs later, we were all wet and filled with laughter and smiles, and the back yard looked like it had been scattered with confetti!
We had soo much fun that we forgot the time and ended up running late to a party! This is definitely a tradition that will continue in our home and will be fun for all the ages, Woodi is even talking about having super soakers next year!! I can't believe that a whole year of schooling has come and gone!
Happy end of Kindy Moo and Boo, Mumma loves you lots and lots xoxo
What fun traditions do your family have???

We had a blast...
Our trip to the Gold Coast with our Neighbours was fantastic! We had a slow start, Woodi, the kids and I are quite used to the trek to the Gold Coast and usually achieve the trip in 8hrs.... This time however the trip was a bit longer taking 11.5 hours, which I guess is to be expected traveling with a family that also have 3 kids that aren't used to the trek. I'm proud to say that Loo made the (extended) trip nappy and accident free, I was stressing for no reason :)
It was great catching up with our Gold Coast Family and the kids are always so excited to see each other and to get big hugs and kisses off Nanna, Poppy and their Aunties and Uncles. As always we sat up for hours chatting, catching up and having a good laugh.
The next day we went & joined our neighbours and spent the day at Seaworld, despite the disappointment of half the park being closed for maintenance we had a great day! The kids paired up, stuck together and behaved so well. The shows were fun and interesting as always, the weather fantastic and the company even better.
Our next day was a day of relaxation spent around the pool at the neighbours holiday complex, the weather was beautiful and the pool was heated! Friends, drinks, swimming, BBQ, fun and sunshine, you couldn't ask for a better day!!
For our 3rd day we once again joined our neighbours and went to Movie World. It was another a fabulous day with so much more for the kids to do and they had an absolute ball!! I was so proud of all six girls, they paired up again and were beautifully behaved. It was so much fun watching their faces on the rides and during the many shows and performances.
We spent the rest of the week catching up with our Qld family and getting to know it's newest member - our little nephew Lachy :)

Home Sweet Home...
I had a wonderful time away with my beautiful girls, I achieved exactly what I hoped to and came away proud of us all. After our (almost) week on our own we were joined by Hubby, my Mum and Dad. It was nice to have some additional company and of course some help with the kids - well more like the chores involved with them.
Mum and I went for walks early in the morning together - several KM's at a pace that nearly killed me - but the scenery was nice :o) We had late night games of Scrabble, went to the markets, took the girls for a ride along the break wall, relaxed and enjoyed one another.
The setting was lush, beautiful and relaxing, the company was wonderful and we had endless activities to pass the hours and days. It was sad to leave, but as always so nice to be home.
Looking forward to our next holiday already :o)

Day 1 of Girls and I in Harrington just us 4.
Had a great day! We started off by having bacon on toast for breakfast. We then got dressed and went shopping for supplies to see me through to payday. We did a load of washing took the girls for a ride around the park and for a play on the jumping pillow!
When we got back to the van it was lunch time, we all had sangas and then settled for some quiet time. Josh went and collected the washing and folded it before he headed back to Newi. When the girls woke up we went to the Tv room to watch today's movie - Herbie. The girls got a little bored so we went for another play on the jumping pillow and stopped and chatted with a friend from the girls school. We went back to the van and collected their bikes and went for another big ride around the park, stopping for a play at the playground.
The girls are now watching a DVD while I have started cooking dinner and gathered our things to go for a bath. So far things are productive, happy and going as planned!
I ❤ my kids & bringing the magic into their lives that they bring into mine xoxo

I'm back....
I have been MIA for quite a while... I have been away dealing with some difficult decisions and in a pretty dark place. Instead of blogging what I have been dealing with I turned my back on blogging, social networks and most of the world. Well I'm back, on the other side and just dealing with the decisions I made. As a result of a major decision made I have also decided to make a few changes in all aspects of my life, basically I want to make the most of my time here, as a mother, as a wife, in my position as SAHM and as me as an individual.
I kicked off these changes with the decision to take my girls away to my parents on-site van by myself while hubby has to work. A week dedicated to my children and providing them with a fun filled memorable holiday with mum..... Here goes :o)

Making the most of this weather..
We had big plans and wanted to make the most of this last week of Hubbys holidays.... But the weather is making it a little difficult. Not quite raining, not quite sunny, but windy.... just not real nice!
But yesterday afternoon we decided - what the heck - let's go fishing!!
It was the 1st time the girls had been
AND
I'm embarrassed to say they've had their rods since their B'day last year!!
SO
Glad we got to use them before the year was up :o)
The girls were very patient in the setup
But were very excited to get their hands on the rods!!
Loo discovered the upside of not owning a rod,
being able to sit and enjoy the bikkies.......
without having to share with her sissy's!
Boo caught her very 1st fish :o)
We were only there for a little over an hour before it started spitting on us,
and the girls were getting a little cold.
BUT
It was a fun and memorable hour or so
& made us feel like we were using the holiday time well :o)
